This week, Support Lead, Helen Grimbly will be looking at the benefits of using Sitemorse CMS Integration (SCI).

What is it?

Sitemorse INCMS allows you to connect your CMS to Sitemorse, so you can assess your web content before you publish it.

SCI is the communication method between Sitemorse and your CMS.

Benefits:

  • Assess pages before they go live. Typically results are viewed in SMARTVIEW, and for some CMSes as a Report.
  • Integrates Sitemorse assessments into your publishing workflow.
  • Better control over your content to ensure improvements get made.
  • Adds a range of capabilities and improves the experience for your content publishers, which in turn improves the experience for your site visitors.
  • Integrating directly with your CMS so that digital compliance relating to brand, spelling, SEO, and accessibility standards are carried out inside your CMS before the content goes live.

Summary of how it works:

  • INCMS consists of a plugin to your CMS and a license key
  • All INCMS communications are encrypted, and all network connections are established outbound from your network - i.e. you do not need to create any exceptions in your firewall.
  • Once the plugin and license are installed, content editors will then be able to assess their content, and make improvements before it goes live.

INCMS availability:

INCMS plugins are available for WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco, Sitecore, Bloomreach and Jadu. Sitemorse also provides the open source code for many of the plugins which you can customise if you choose to.

You can also create plugins for any CMSes by writing your own plugin to the SCI protocol, or use one of our existing open source clients that implements the protocol. These are available written in Java, C# and PHP.

How to I get the INCMS plugin:

Please contact Sitemorse for the plugins for WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco and Sitecore.
However, if your CMS vendor is Bloomreach or Jadu, please contact them to obtain the Sitemorse plugin. For the license keys, in all cases, please contact Sitemorse.

NB. Plugins for other CMSes are being created all the time, for example Terminal 4 are currently creating a plugin. If you are a CMS vendor you can also contact Sitemorse to discuss creating a plugin for your CMS.
