Sitemorse partner company Cookie Reports has announced a further workshop session in partnership with international audit and risk management specialists Deloitte for those needing help to comply with the new EU law on cookies.

The new workshop, to be held in early July, follows the success of earlier free sessions designed to help guide companies through the maze of the new laws.

Cookie Reports, a fairly recent start-up, has been successful in delivering technology-driven solutions to some major brands in both the private and public sectors, including AXA, the Met Office, Coca-Cola, Barclays, Clarks, and Screwfix.

This success is all the more interesting because Cookie Reports is just the first major deployment of the Sitemorse Digital Governance Development Platform (DGDP) – a software suite that users can licence and configure themselves to meet their own requirements for web governance.

“The need for good digital governance is becoming clear to all major organisations, not just because international regulation like the EU Privacy Directive is becoming so widespread but because it’s an essential part of brand management now.” Says Lawrence Shaw, Chief Executive of Sitemorse.

“Big companies have an enormous number of websites and not everything out there is good. It’s not feasible to manage a major web presence manually, so it’s important to know the technology exists to manage and keep track of large numbers of sites in a speedy, scalable way. Our digital platform can handle up to 1000,000 sites a day” he added.

Sitemorse has been the world's only single solution for web content governance, monitoring, recording and benchmarking for more than a decade, and has an enviable client list of the great and good in industry, local and central government, and the banking and retail sectors, offering remotely-based software as a service (Saas) services. But it’s only recently that technology has advanced enough to allow the Sitemorse “engine”
to be able to be licenced.

Says Lawrence Shaw: “ We once offered a one-size fits all product to web managers that allowed them to monitor problems and ensure their sites were running well and that users were not finding errors. But the constant background of an increasing need for compliance with international laws and regulations means that more tailored solutions are now desirable.

“Sitemorse offers three levels of products, from simple web-purchased tools that allow for low-cost page and small website checking through to specific aids to web managers and our flagship product Governisation – a word we coined to blend governance and optimisation – for intensive web management covering multiple websites operating around the world.

“The Digital Governance Development Platform allows users to harness the power of the Sitemorse engine to ensure their own priorities around brand management, internal and external compliance, are paramount in a solution that runs seamlessly alongside their own content management systems” he added.
