This week, Support Lead, Helen Grimbly will be outlining how a client can view and edit alert recipients for monitors.

What is a monitor?

Sitemorse Global Heartbeat helps an organisation to monitor the uptime and response time of a web page, often the front page of a site. If there are any issues with the site being down or responding slowly then specified users can be alerted via email and/or SMS.

For more information on how Sitemorse Global Heartbeat monitors work, please see the following article:

How to View alert recipients

To view alert recipients for a monitor, log into Sitemorse, then from Digital Properties select 'Journeys & Monitoring' for a site, and click the Cog icon next to the title to view the settings. Then select the tab called 'Alert Recipients' where you can view and edit existing Alert Recipients.

To add an alert recipient

Once you are on the 'Alert Recipients' page as described above, select the 'Add alert recipient' button. Select email or SMS option, add an email address or mobile number, and a description for that user (e.g. their name).

To edit an alert recipient

From the 'Alert Recipients' page, for an existing listed alert recipient, select the Cog icon for that user, and you can edit the email address or SMS mobile number, but also pause / unpause monitor alerts, select if the user should only receive alerts within office hours, and if outside office hours then whether they only receieve downtime alerts or also slow response alerts. Also whether to notify on recovery of a web page if it has been detected as down. There is also an option to delete the alert recipient.
