England UK, July 2002 - Internet portals, online publications, consultants, dotcoms and other Internet-based organisations that have been able to survive an increasingly competitive marketplace have done so by adding value to their existing products and services. No longer able to turn a profit offering the basics, these players are adding a host of other services to their catalogue to make themselves more valuable.

One such value-add that Internet companies have long been asking for is the ability to offer clients a comprehensive Web site auditing service. To date, however, the offerings have been limited and available only on a small scale. Business2WWW (B2W), a global provider of Web site auditing and monitoring services, is now making strategic alliances with partners around the globe.

B2W’s Sitemorse™ service addresses one of the most vexing problems in e-commerce, and that is keeping sites free of errors. Ninety-seven percent of Web sites tested suffer from pervasive flaws, many of which disservice customers or prevent transactions from taking place. While many of these flaws are easy to repair, they are notoriously difficult to find. Using Sitemorse, a Web site of any size can achieve the highest level of accuracy possible, and as a result, enjoy a better financial return.

The average Web site needs some 200,000 checks to ensure that its operation is error-free. Sitemorse is the only system they can automatically simulate every possible action taken by a user visiting your site, testing every element on every page for problems.

“The Sitemorse Web site testing service has become immensely popular since its introduction last year,” said Philip Sheldon, Managing Director of B2W. “Companies of all sizes have used our audit to successfully improve the operation of their sites — and their bottom lines. Now, we’re expanding even further by signing on dealers who can both service their existing customers, and earn a generous commission from those who subscribe.”

Dealers are able to re-brand the service and add their own logo and message to their own B2W Web site with a unique URL, and offer their clients an easy way to test their sites. In addition to providing clients with an added service and improving their Web site, dealers can use it as an additional revenue stream, earning a commission on all sales.

In the coming weeks, B2W will also be offering a corporate access solution, allowing companies with more than 10 sites to effectively manage Web site testing and reporting. The system will offer multi-level access, individual company or consolidated billing, along with numerous reporting levels.
