This week, Support Lead, Helen Grimbly will be looking at what the Inventory covers.

For each Sitemorse assessment, we include a link to the site's Inventory. This Inventory is produced from the assessed pages only.

To view Inventory for a site assessment, either select the 'Inventory' link for a site from the Digital Properties page, or the Inventory icon which is found at the top of the Content tab for a selected site assessment on the dashboard. Select this icon to view a page that lists the Inventory categories.

Summary of Inventory categories:

Files 'by type'

Lists all files by type. e.g. select "application/pdf" to view all PDFs found, or "image/gif" to view 10 largest gif files. Note: these are the filetypes as reported by your web server.

Telephone Numbers

Lists all telephone numbers found in the assessment, including the count of telephone numbers found in webpages and in PDFs, and where they are located within the site pages tested.

Emails

Displays 'mailto' links found within the assessed pages.

Links

Display all links found from website to other external sites, highlighting which ones have issues.

Domains

Site domain information including registration expiry date.

Directory map

Directory map of the assessed site including sub directories.

Servers

Server information found.

Technologies

Client-side technologies identified in use (e.g. Javascript, flash etc).

So the Inventory can be used to, for example, locate a telephone number on your site that needs changing, or what email addresses are in use, or which are the largest sub-directories on your site.
