This week, Support Lead, Helen Grimbly explains what the number of Actions count refers to in the Function category of a Report.
A problem with a URL is referred to as one diagnostic (e.g. url/fetch/notfound), and each time we find another link to that URL that is another occurrence of that same diagnostic. The number of Actions on the Function Priorities page is based upon the total number of occurrences.
For example:
Report A:
Function has 50 Actions. So if this Report had 10 separate Function diagnostics, then 40 of these Actions refer to other occurrences of these diagnostics.
Report B:
Function has 50 Actions. So if this Report had 45 separate Function diagnostics, then 5 of these Actions refer to other occurrences of those diagnostics.
Report B's Function score will be higher than Report A's because it has a higher number of separate diagnostics that need to be fixed.
So more Actions does not necessarily mean a lower score, it is the number of distinct diagnostics that matters.
